Senior girls travelled to Cork to play in the Senior A Plate final against Bandon College. They were determined to win and prevent Bandon from taking the plate home for the third year in a row. The teams were very close in the first half with Mariana Birdthistle making a number of super saves to keep the game at a nil all draw at half time. The girls re-grouped and picked up the pace in the second half with Muireann Scanlon and Lauren Ryan dominating play in the centre of the pitch. Robyn Stanley scored a well worked team goal in the 64th minute securing a 1-0 win for Villiers and making history with our first silverware at senior A level. Well done girls!
